Potes and Fuente Dé

This post features student writing.

Hola!

My name is Lulu and today I’ll be your student blogger!

Today we woke up early and drove to Fuente Dé (20 minutes away from Potes). It’s a beautiful and quiet place surrounded by mountains. We’re staying in a family hotel, so there are many young kids we get to talk to in Spanish.

After settling in, we went to have lunch: spaghetti and red sauce. Later, we went into town and began learning more about Spain in a bear museum. We heard about the history of bears in Spain and why there are now foundations ensuring that the bears here are protected.

After, we explored the town through a scavenger hunt where we had to communicate with locals, find different locations, and present our findings to the group. We traveled to an ice cream store, where we asked the owner what her favorite Spanish saying was, a restaurant to ask a staff member their favorite recipe of cocido lebaniego, the local dish, as well as take pictures of art and bridges. We also got really good ice cream in the process.

To end the night, we headed to a restaurant for dinner, followed by a car ride back to the hotel. I can’t wait for tomorrow!

Hugs from Spain,

Lulu
